Linear point-to-point

A point-to-point configuration transports traffic between two sites on a protected OMX DWDM system. Two fiber spans between the sites in a DWDM point-to-point configuration have the same functionality as up to 32 fiber spans in a non-DWDM point-to-point configuration. An OMX shelf is required at both sites. The fiber connects to the OTS OUT on the OMX module at one site, and the OTS IN on the OMX module at the other site. See Figure 2-28for an example of a point-to-point configuration for four channels.
