IPv4 Settings

Overview

The parameters in IPv4 settings are used to access the IOLAN and are how the IOLAN accesses the network.

Field Descriptions

Configure the following parameters:

System Name

The System Name is used for informational purposes by such tools as the

 

DeviceManager and is also used in conjunction with the Domain field to

 

construct a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).

 

Default: localhost

Domain

This field is combined with the System Name to construct the fully qualified

 

domain name (FQDN). For example, if the domain is mycompany.com and

 

the Server Name is set to accounting, the FQDN would be

 

accounting.mycompany.com.

Obtain IP Address When enabled, the IOLAN will request an IP address from the DHCP/BOOTP automatically using server. By default, when this option is enabled, the IOLAN will also attempt to DHCP/BOOTP retrieve the DNS server, WINS server, and default gateway from the

DHCP/BOOTP server.

 

Default: Disabled

Use the following

Assign a specific IP address to the IOLAN.

IP Address

Field Format: IPv4 address

IP Address

The IOLAN’s unique IPv4 network IP address.

 

Field Format: IPv4 address

Subnet Mask

The network subnet mask. For example, 255.255.0.0.
