Serial Port Profiles

zUDP Entry 3

All hosts that have an IP Address that falls within the range of 172.16.1.75 to 172.16.1.80

and who listen to Port 33009 will receive UDP data from the serial device. The IOLAN will

listen for messages on the port value configured in the Listen for connections on UDP port

parameter. No UDP data will be sent to the serial device.

This entry is disabled since Direction is set to Disabled.

General Tab Field Descriptions

Configure the following parame ters:

Listen for

connections on

UDP port

The IOLAN will listen for UDP packets on the specified port.

Default: 1000+<port-number> (for example, 10001 for serial port 1)

Direction The direction in which information is received or relayed:

zDisabled—UDP service not enabled.

zLAN to Serial—UDP Port can be set to Auto Learn or Port. The IOLAN

will listen on port value configured in the Listen for connections on UDP

port parameter for messages coming from t he learn e d or config ured port.

zSerial to LAN—UDP Port can be set to Port only. The IOLAN will listen

on the port value configured in the Listen for connections on UDP port

parameter and will send to the confi gured port.

zBoth—Messages are relayed in both directions. UDP Port can be set to

Auto Learn or Port. For messages coming from the LAN to th e serial

device, IOLAN will listen on port value configured in the Listen for

connections on UDP port parameter for messages coming from the

learned or configured port. For messages going from the serial devi ce to

the LAN, the IOLAN will list en on the port value configured in the Listen

for connections on UDP port parameter and will send to th e configured

or learned (if Auto Learn is enabled, the IOLAN must receive a UDP

message before it can send one, since the port must first be ’learned’) port .

Default: Both for UDP 1 and Disabled for all other UDP ranges

Start IP Address The first host IP address in the range of IP addresses (for IPv4 or IPv6) that the

IOLAN will listen for messages from and/or send messages to.

Field Format: IPv4 or IPv6 address

End IP Addr ess The last host IP address in the range of IP addresses (for IPv4, not supported

for IPv6) that the IOLAN will listen for messages from and/or send messages

to.

Field Format: IPv4 address
