!Externalunit refers to a Pioneer product (such
asone available in the future) that, although
incompatibleas a source, enables control of
basicfunctions by this unit. Two external units
canbe controlled by this unit. When two exter-
nalunits are connected, the allocation of
themto external unit 1 or external unit 2 is
automaticallyset by this unit.
!Whenthis units blue/white lead is connected
tothe cars auto-antenna relay controlterm-
inal,the cars antenna extendswhen this
unitssource is turned on. To retract the an-
tenna,turn the source off. (When you con-
necteda Pioneer multi-channel processor
(DEQ-P7650)to this unit, auto-antenna cannot
becontroled.)
Loading a disc
1 PressOPEN to open the front panel.
Discloading slot appears.
#Aftera disc has been inserted, press SOURCE
toselect the DVD player.
2 Inserta disc into the disc loading slot.
Whenyou set DSC-A: ON, playback will auto-
maticallystart. If you set DSC-A: OFF, press
SOURCEto select DVD (refer to the previous
page).

#Toeject a disc, press EJECT.
#Toavoid a malfunction, make sure that no
metalobject comes into contact with the term-
inalswhen the front panel is open.
3 Closethe front panel.
Notes
!TheDVD player plays one, standard, 12-cm or
8-cm(single) disc at a time. Do not use an
adapterwhen playing 8-cm discs.
!Donot insert anything other than a disc into
thedisc loading slot. Discs which can be
playedback are listed on Playable discs on
page6.
!Ifyou cannot insert a disc completely or if
afteryou insert a disc the disc does not play,
checkthat the label side of the disc is up.
PressEJECT to eject the disc, and check the
discfor damage before inserting it again.
!Ifthe DVD player does not operate properly,
anerror message such as ERROR-02 may be
displayed.Refer to Error messages on page 90.
!Ifbookmark function is on, DVD playback re-
sumesfrom the selected point. For more de-
tails,refer to Resume playback (Bookmark) on
page24.
Adjusting the volume
%UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Withthe head unit, rotate VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Withthe remote control, press VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Turningthe unit off
%PressSOURCE and hold until the unit
turnsoff.
