Compensating forequalizer curves (EQ-EX)
TheEQ-EX function smoothes the effects of
eachequalizer curve. Furthermore, you can
adjustbass and treble for each source when
CUSTOMcurve is selected.
!IfSFEQ has been previously selected, press
EQ-EXand hold to switch to EQ-EX and
EQ-EXappears in the display.
!Youcannot use EQ-EX function and SFEQ
functionsimultaneously.
%PressEQ-EX to turn EQ-EX on.
EQ-EX:ONappears in the display. EQ-EX is
nowon.
#Toturn EQ-EX off, press EQ-EX.
Setting the sound focusequalizer (SFEQ)
Clarifyingthe sound image of vocals and in-
strumentsallows the simple staging of a nat-
ural,pleasant sound environment. Even
greaterlistening enjoyment will be obtained if
seatingpositions are chosen carefully. FRT1
booststhe treble on the front output and the
basson the rear output. FRT2 boosts the treble
andthe bass on the front output and the bass
onthe rear output. (The bass boost is the
samefor both front and rear.) For both FRT1
andFRT2,Hsetting provides a more pro-
nouncedeffect than Lsetting.
!Youcannot use EQ-EX function and SFEQ
functionsimultaneously.
1 PressEQ-EX and hold to switch to SFEQ
function.
PressEQ-EX and hold until SFEQ indicator ap-
pearsin the display.
#Toswitch to EQ-EX function, press EQ-EX and
hold.
2 PressEQ-EX to select the desired SFEQ
setting.
PressEQ-EX repeatedly to switch between the
followingsettings:
FRT1-H(front 1-high)FRT1-L (front 1-low)
FRT2-H(front 2-high)FRT2-L (front 2-low)
CUSTOM(custom)SFEQ OFF (off)
3 Pressmor nto select the desired
position.
Pressmor nuntil the desired position ap-
pearsin the display.

!Ifyou adjust the bass or treble, CUSTOM
memorizesan SFEQ setting in which the bass
andtreble are adjusted for personal prefer-
ence.
!Ifyou switch the SFEQ setting, the HPF func-
tionis automatically turned off. By turning the
HPFfunction on after selecting the SFEQ set-
ting,you can combine HPF function with
SFEQfunction.
Using balance adjustment
Youcan select a fader/balance setting that
providesan ideal listening environment in all
occupiedseats.
1 PressA to select FAD.
PressAuntil FAD appears in the display.
#Ifthe balance setting has been previously ad-
justed,BAL will be displayed.
2 Pressror qto adjust front/rear
speakerbalance.
Eachpress of ror qmoves the front/rear
speakerbalance towards the front or the rear.
FAD:F15 FAD :R15 is displayedas the front/
rearspeaker balance moves from front to rear.
