1 Pressand hold EQ-EX until PLBappears
inthe display.
2 PressEQ-EX to select the desired mode.
!MOV(movie) The Movie mode suitable
formovie playback
!MUS(music) The Music mode suitable
formusic playback
!MAT(matrix) The Matrix mode for when
FMradio reception is weak
!PLB:OFFTurn Dolby Pro Logic Boff
#Youcan operate music adjust only when
MUS(music) has been selected.
#Tocancel Dolby Pro Logic B, press EQ-EX
againto select PL B:OFF.
Adjusting the Music mode
Youcan adjust the Music mode with the fol-
lowingthree controls.
!Panorama(PANO) extends the front stereo
imageto include the surround speakers for
anexciting wraparoundeffect.
!Dimension(DIME) allows you to gradually
adjustthe sound field either towards the
frontor the rear.
!CenterWidth Control (CENT) allows center-
channelsounds to be positioned between
thecenter speaker and the left/right speak-
ers.It improves the left-center-right stage
presentationfor both the driver and the
frontpassenger.
1 PressEQ-EX until MUS (music) appears
inthe display.
2 Pressnto select PANO.
Pressqor rto turn PANO on/off.
3 Pressnagain to select DIME.
Eachtime you press qor rit moves the
soundtowards the front or the surrounds.
+33is displayed as the front/surround
speakerbalance moves from front to sur-
rounds.
4 Pressnagain to select CENT.
Eachtime you press qor rit gradually
spreadsthe center channel sound into the
frontleft and right speakers over a range 07.
3isthe default and its recommended for
mostrecordings. 0places all center sound in
thecenter speaker. 7places all center sound
equallyin the left/right speakers.
Setting the speaker setting
Youneed to make with/without (or yes/no) and
size(bass reproducing capacity) selection/ad-
justmentsdepending on the installed speak-
ers.The size needs to be set to LRG (large) if
thespeaker is capable of reproducing sounds
ofabout 100 Hz or below. Otherwise select
SML(small).
!Lowfrequency range is not output if the
subwooferis set to OFF and the front and
rearspeakers set to SML or OFF.
!Itis imperative that non-installed speakers
beset to OFF.
!Setthe front or rear speaker to LRG if the
speakeris capable of reproducing bass
content,or if no subwoofer is installed.
1 PressA and hold until FRONT appears
inthe display.
2 Pressmor nto select the speaker
tobe adjusted.
Eachpress of mor nselects the speaker
inthe following order:
