Using the auto-equalizer
Theauto-equalizer is the equalizer cur ve cre-
atedby auto TA and EQ (refer to Auto TA and
EQ(auto-time alignment and auto-equalizing)
onthis page).
Youcan turn the auto-equalizer on or off.
1 PressA and hold until FRONT appears
inthe display, then press A to select
ATEQ: OFF.
AfterFRONT is displayed, press Auntil PLB
appearsin the display.
#Youcannot use this function if auto TA and
EQhas not been carried out.
2 Pressrto turn the auto-equalizer on.
ATEQ: ON appears in the display.
#Toturn auto-equalizer off, press q.
Auto TAand EQ (auto-timealignment and auto-equalizing)
Onlywhen the multi-channel processor (e.g.,
DEQ-P7650)is connected to this unit, you can
operatethis function.
Theauto-time alignment is automatically ad-
justedfor the distance between each speaker
andthe listening position.
Theauto-equalizer automatically measures
thecar interior acoustic characteristics, and
thencreates the auto-equalizer cur ve based
onthat information.
WARNING
Toprevent accidents, never carry out auto TA and
EQwhile driving. When this function measures
thecar interior acoustic characteristics to create
anauto-equalizer curve, a loud measurement
tone(noise) may be outputted from the speakers.

CAUTION

!Carryingout auto TA and EQ under the follow-
ingconditions may damage the speakers. Be
sureto check the conditions thoroughly be-
forecarrying out auto TA and EQ.
Whenspeakers are incorrectly connected.
(e.g.,When a rear speaker is connected to
asubwoofer output.)
Whena speaker is connected to a power
ampdelivering output higher than the
speakersmaximum input power capabil-
ity.
!Ifthe microphone is placed in an unsuitable
positionthe measurement tone may become
loudand measurement may take a long time,
resultingin a drain on battery power. Be sure
toplace the microphone in the specified loca-
tion.
