Correctingthe subwoofersphase

Iftr ying to boost the bass output of the sub-
wooferdoesnt do much or rather makes you
feelthat the bass gets more murky, this may
indicatethat the subwoofer s output and bass
contentyou hear over other speakers cancel
eachother out. To remove this problem, try
changingthe phase setting for the subwoofer.
1 PressA and hold until FRONT appears
inthe display.
2 Pressmor nto select the subwoo-
fer.
Eachpress of mor nselects the speaker
inthe following order:
FRONT(front speakers)CENT (center speak-
er)REAR(rear speakers)SUB.W (subwoo-
fer)PHASE(subwoofer setting)
3 Pressrto turn the subwoofer output
on.
4 Pressnto select PHASE (subwoofer
setting).
5 Pressqor rto select the subwoofer
outputphase.
Pressrto select NOR (normal phase). Press
qtoselect REV (reverse phase).
6 PressBAND to return to the playback
display.
Note
Whenplaying a 2-channel mono source with Pro
LogicBturned on, there may be occasions when
thefollowing will occur:
!Noaudio is outputted if the center speaker
settingis SML or LRG and no center speaker
isinstalled.
!Audiois heard only over the center speaker if
installedand the center speaker setting is
SMLor LRG.
Selecting a cross-overfrequency
Youcan select a frequency, under which
soundsare reproduced through the subwoo-
fer.If the installed speakers include one whose
sizehas been set to SML, you can select a fre-
quency,under which sounds are reproduced
througha LRG speaker or subwoofer.
1 PressA and hold until FRONT appears
inthe display, then press A to select HPF.
AfterFRONT is displayed, press Auntil HPF
appearsin the display.
