Using the remote controloperation mode switch

Thereare two remote control operation modes

onthe remote control. If you want to operate

thisunit by remote control, turn the mode

switchto DVH mode. In this case, both the

headunits buttons and remote control can

controlthis unit.

DVH mode operation

Whenoperating this unit by remote control,

themode is normally switched to DVH.

!Itis possible to usethe joystick on the re-

motecontrol to perform the sameopera-

tionsas the a/b/c/dbuttons on the head

unit.

!Numbers(16) can perform the same op-

erationsas 16buttons on the head unit.

Ifyou want to select a disc located at 7

to12 by using buttons 16, press and

holdthe corresponding numbers, such

as1for disc 7, until the disc number ap-

pearsin the display.

DVD mode operation

Ifyou switch the mode to DVD, the joystick

andNUMBER operations are changed for

DVDplayer.

%Whenyou want to operate the follow-

ingfunctions, switch the mode to DVD:

!Whenoperating the DVD menu by using

thejoystick. (Refer to Basic operation of DVD

videoon page 20.)

!Whenoperating the PBC menu by using

NUMBER.(Refer to Watching a Video CD on

page28.)

!Whenspecifying title or track by using

NUMBER.(Refer to Specifying title on page

21and Specifying track on page 29.)

Note

Ifthe remote control is set to DVH mode, o

andpare assigned to other functions. Use

mandninstead for the DVD mode functions

controlledby oand p.

Turningthe unit on

%PressSOURCE to turn the unit on.

Whenyou select a source the unit is turned

on.

Selecting a source

Youcan select a source you want to listen to. If

DSC-Ais turned on, load a disc in the unit to

switchto DVD (refer to Switching the auto-

maticdisc playback on page 84).

%PressSOURCE to select a source.

PressSOURCE repeatedly to switch between

thefollowing sources:
