Polycom CX5500 Unified Conference Station for Microsoft Lync User Guide

Dial in to Conference Calls

The CX5500 system provides an onscreen dialpad where you can enter conference codes when dialing in to conference calls.

To dial in to a conference call:

1In the dialer, enter the conference phone number or select the conference from your Directory.

2Tap to place the call.

3After the call is answered, tap the onscreen dialpad icon . The onscreen dialpad displays.

4Enter the conference code and tap . The phone dials in to the conference call.

Manage Conference Calls

You can initiate a conference call to include two or more contacts. Your system administrator configures the maximum number of participants allowed in a conference call. Ask your system administrator for the maximum number of contacts allowed.

As with other calls, you can hold and resume conference calls. In addition, you can split a conference call, which ends the conference and places all participants on hold.

If your system administrator enables the conference management feature on your phone, you can manage each participant in a conference call— that is, you can mute, hold, and remove each participant in the conference. For more information, see Manage Conference Call Participants.

User Tip: Best practices for conference calls

Follow these tips to improve your experience in a conference call:

Mute your microphone when you are not speaking, especially in noisy environments.

Avoid tapping the microphone or rustling papers near the microphone.

Speak in your normal voice without shouting.
