FCC Requirements
1. This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules. On the cover of this equipm ent is a label that
contains, among other information, the FCC registrat ion number and ringer equiva lence number
(REN) for this equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the teleph one company.
2. This equipment uses the following USOC jack: RJ11C
3. The REN is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to the telephone line.
Excessive REN's on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incom-
ing call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of the REN's shou ld not excee d five (5.0). C ontact the
telephone company to determine the maximum REN for the calling area.
4. If this equipment causes harm to the telephone network, t he telephone company will notify you in ad-
vance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. If advance notice is not practical,
the telephone company will notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your
right to file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary.

The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures tha t
could affect the operation of the equipment. If this happens, the telephone company will provide advance
notice in order for you to make necessary modifications in order to maintain uninterrupted service.

phone company may request you to disconnect the equipment from the network until the problem is resolved.

Line Service is subject to state tariffs.
WHEN PROGRAMMING EMERGENCY NUMBERS AND/OR MAKING TEST CALLS TOEMERGENCY NUMBERS:
1. Remain on the line and briefly explain to the dispatcher the reason for the call bef or e han ging up.
2. Perform such activities in the off-peak hours, such as early morning hours or late eve nings.

The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certification m ea ns that the equipment meets
telecommunications network protective, operational, and safet y requirements as prescribed in the appropri-
ate Terminal Equipment Technical Requirements document(s). The department does no t guarantee the
equipment will operate to the user's satisfaction.
Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to be conn ected to the facilities of
the local telecommunications company. The equipment must also b e ins talled u sing an accep table m et hod
of connection. The customer should be aware that compliance with the above con ditions may no t prevent
degradation of service in some situations.
Repairs to certified equipment should be coordinated by a repr esentative d esignated by the supplier. Any
repairs or alterations made by the user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctio ns, may give the telecom-
munications company cause to request the user disconnect the equipment.
Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical ground connect i ons of the power utility, tele-
phone lines, and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are con nected together. This precaution may
be particularly important in rural areas.
Caution: Users should not attempt to make such connections themselves, bu t should contact the appropriate
electric inspection authority, or electrician, as appropriate.
The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) assigned to each termi nal device provides an indication of the max-
imum number of terminals allowed to be connec te d t o a t el ep hone in te rf ac e. The te rmina ti on o n an i nte rf ac e
may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the requirement that th e sum of the Ringer Equiv-
alence Numbers of all the devices does not exceed 5.
In accordance with IEC 60417, this machine uses the following symbols for t he main power switch:
