Use and Storage of Supplies
•When setting paper thinner than 64g/m2, 17 lb or translucent paper in the pa- per trays or bypass trays, set it as shown in the figure below. The paper is di- vided into the vertical and horizontal types depending on the texture flow
direction. If you set thin paper or translucent paper in the reverse direction, a paper jam might occur. Since A3, B4, 11" × 17", and 81/2" × 14" sizes of thin paper are set in the lengthwise direction in this machine, they must be of the vertical type.

Paper should always be stored properly. Improperly stored paper might result in poor image reproduction, creased copies, and paper misfeeds. Generally, avoid curling and absorption of moisture.
•Avoid storing paper in humid areas. Under high temperature and high hu- midity, or low temperature and low humidity conditions, store paper in a vi- nyl bag.
•Do not store paper where it will be exposed to heat.
•Store on a flat surface.
•Use older stock first.
•Do not lay heavy objects on paper.
•Keep open reams of paper in the package, and store as you would unopened paper.
Toner Storage
•Store in a cool, dark place.
•Never store toner where it will be exposed to heat.
•Do not lay heavy objects on toner container.
