Removing Misfed Paper

When a paper misfeed occurs, an er- ror message appears on the panel dis- play. The procedure you should follow to remove the misfed paper depends on the location of the mis- feed, which is indicated on the panel display.

RCAUTION:

•When removing misfed paper, do not touch the fusing section because it becomes very hot.

❒More than one misfed area might be indicated. In this case, check ev- ery applicable area. See the follow- ing illustrations.

❒If paper continues to misfeed, check the following points.

•Confirm that the setting of the paper size dial matches the size and feeding direction of the pa- per loaded in the paper tray.

•Confirm that the toner bottle is set correctly.

❒If a paper misfeed still occurs, con- tact your sales or service represen- tative.

❒Do not leave any torn paper scraps within the printer.
