To initiate an option, press the corresponding softkey.
Call Alert: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number
(area code and phone number) and press Msg/Alert
(left softkey). Select Call Alert to send an alert
message to the person you are calling that you want
to communicate using Direct Connect. (See “Using
Call Alerts” on page 47.)
Text: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number (area
code and phone number) and press Msg/Alert
(left softkey). Select Text to send a text message to the
person you are calling. (See “Composing SMS Text
Messages” on page 154.)
Picture Mail: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number
(area code and phone number) and press Msg/Alert
(left softkey). Select Picture Mail to send a picture or
video to the person you are calling. (See “Sending
Sprint Picture Mail” on page 131.)
VoiceSMS: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number
(area code and phone number) and press Msg/Alert
(left softkey). Select VoiceSMS to send an SMS Voice
message to the person you are calling. (See
“Composing SMS Voice Messages” on page 157.)
Dial: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number (area
code and phone number) and press Options
(right softkey). Select Dial to dial the phone number.
Contact Details: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number
(area code and phone number) and press Options
(right softkey). Select Contact Details to display
information about the phone number if it is saved in
the Contacts list.
Save: Enter a seven-digit or ten-digit number (area
code and phone number) and press Options (right
softkey). Select Save to save the phone number in
your Contacts. (See “Saving a Phone Number” on
page 31.)
Find: Enter a digit or string of digits and press Options
(right softkey). Select Find to display Contacts entries
that contain the entered numbers. (See “Finding a
Phone Number” on page 32.)
Hard Pause: Enter one or more digits and press
Options (right softkey). Select Hard Pause to insert a
hard pause and enter additional numbers and
pauses as needed. (See “Dialing and Saving Phone
Numbers With Pauses” on page 32.)
