Monitoring a Room

A telephone can be used to monitor a room. The func- tion must be activated on the telephone that you want to monitor.

Calling this telephone from outside lets you hear what is going on in the room.

Activating the telephone to be monitored:

Press the key. The LED lights up.

Select and confirm.

Enter the code.

You can either leave the telephone in speakerphone modeoptiPoint 500 economy (not available with optiPoint 500 basic) or lift the handset and leave it direc- ted towards the noise source.

Deactivating the telephone to be monitored:

Press the illuminated key. The LED goes out.

Replace the handset.

Monitoring the room:

Lift the handset.

From the inside:

Enter the internal number of the telephone to be moni- tored.

From the outside:

Precondition: You have a telephone that uses tone di- aling (DTMF dialing) or you can switch your telephone to tone dialing. The telephone is not connected to the system.

Set up a call to the HiPath 1200. Enter the station num- ber (DISA MSN; consult service personnel).

Wait for a continuous tone (if necessary switch the tele- phone to tone dialing), then enter the internal number that has been assigned to you and the associated PIN
