Troubleshooting i.LINK Drives

Why isn't my i.LINK drive playing a CD or DVD properly?

The i.LINK1 optical drive will not play a CD or DVD if the disc was inserted with the label facing down. Eject the CD or DVD from the drive, and make sure the label is facing up.

The disc requires a particular program that is not already installed on your computer. Install that program according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The DVD is not compatible with the optical drive and a region code warning appears when you try to play it. Make sure the region code listed on the DVD package is compatible with the drive.

1i.LINK is a trademark of Sony used only to designate that a product contains an IEEE 1394 connection. The i.LINK connection may vary, depending on the software programs, operating system, and compatible i.LINK devices. A ll products with an i.LINK connection may not communicate with each other. Refer to the documentation that came with your compatible i.LINK device for information on operating conditions and proper connection. Before connecting compatible i.LINK PC peripherals to your system, such as C D-RW or hard disk drive, confirm their operating system compatibility and required operating conditions.
