Connecting Your Device to the Internet Through a Computer (Internet Pass-through)

If you don’t have a data plan for your device or you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network, you can still go online on your device by using your computer’s Internet connection.

Notes: Before you can use your computer as a modem, you’ll need to install HTC Sync on your computer. See “HTC Sync” on page 110 for details.

Make sure that your device has an active connection with the Sprint 1xRTT data network or the Sprint 3G network. For more information, see “Getting Started With Data Services” on page 182.

1.Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.

Important: Sprint recommends that you turn off your local network’s firewall. Also, if your computer connects to the Internet via PPP (for example, dial-up, xDSL, or VPN), Internet Pass-through will only support TCP protocol.

2.Connect the device to the computer using the provided USB cable.

3.On the Connect to PC screen, select Internet pass- through, and then tap Done.
