Toviewthe new tables, return to the Services window, right-click the database connection, and
thenclick Refresh. Expand the database connection and then Tablesto view the database.

ToCreate the Connection Pooland JDBC Resource

Inorder to connect to the database, you need to dene a JDBC connection pool and JDBC
resourceusing the GlassFish Admin Console or the command-line interface.
Startthe GlassFish server.
Tocreatethe connection pool and JDBC resource, follow the instructions under “Creating a JDBC
ConnectionPool” in Sun GlassFishEnterprise Server 2.1 Administration Guide.
Usethe information from the database connection you created earlier in “To Create and
Connectto the Database” on page 140.

Associatingthe MLLP Database With the Adapter

Onceyou create the MLLP database, you can connect to it from the inbound TCP/IP HL7
Adapter.You do this in the HL7 External Systems properties located in the CAPS Environment
youcreate for the HL7 Project. This procedure assumes you have already created the
Environmentand that it includes an HL7 External System.
Onthe NetBeans Services window, expand CAPS Environments,and then expand the HL7
Environmentyou created foryour Project.
Right-clickthe HL7 External System, and select Properties.
TheProperties Editor appears.
Inthe left pane, expand HL7 Inbound eWay.
SelectDatabase Settings.
Inthe JNDI Name of the JDBC Datasource proper ty,enter the JNDI name of the JDBC
Resourceyou created under “ToCreate the Connection Pool and JDBC Resource”on page 144.
ClickOK.
