CableCARDTM Settings

From the TiVo Central® screen, select Messages & Settings, then Settings, then Remote, CableCARD, & Devices, then CableCARDTM Decoder. This screen is typically used only by your cable company’s installer.

About CableCARD Decoders

CableCARD decoders receive encrypted digital cable programming and “decode” it for display on your TV without the need for a cable box. With CableCARD decoders inserted, the TiVo DVR essentially becomes a digital cable box.

CableCARD decoders plug into the two slots on the back of the TiVo DVR. See the Start Here poster for details.

CableCARD decoders are available only from your cable company. They replace your digital cable box, and allow you to receive the same programming packages in your subscription. Insert two CableCARD decoders into the back of the TiVo DVR to get dual tuner: the ability to watch and record two digital cable channels at the same time.
