Installinganewoperatingsystem

Ifyouinstallanewoperatingsysteminyourcomput er,youneedt oinstallthesupplementlesandThinkPad
devicedriversforitatthesametime.Formoreinformation,see“Installingdevicedrivers”onpage66.
Beforeyouinstalltheoperatingsystem,printtheinstructionsyouwilluse.

•TheUEFIBIOSfeaturesaresupportedonlyonthe64-bitversionoftheWindows7andWindows8
operatingsystem.
•Besuret osetapreferredsettingfortheUEFI/LegacyBootoptioninThinkP adSetup.
•Afterinstallingthenewoperationsystem,youshouldnotchangetheinitialUEFI/LegacyBootsettingin
ThinkPadSetup.TheUEFI/LegacyBootsettingmustbethesameasitwaswhentheWindowsoperating
systemimagewasinstalled.Otherwise,thenewoperatingsystemwillnotbootproperly.
