Externalmonitorproblems
•Problem:Theexternalmonit orisblank.
Solution:Tobringuptheimage,pressF7andselectthedesiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,do
thefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertoensurethatitworks.
2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitort oyourcomputer.
3.Refertothemanualshippedwiththeexternalmonitortochecktheresolutionsandrefreshratesthat
aresupported.
–Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsthesameresolutionasthecomputerdisplayorahigherresolution,
viewoutputontheexternalmonitororonboththeexternalmonitorandthecomputerdisplay .
–Iftheext ernalmonitorsupportsalowerresolutionthanthecomputerdisplay,viewoutputonthe
externalmonitoronly .(Ifyouviewoutputonboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternalmonitor,
theexternalmonitorscreenwillbeblankordistorted.)
•Problem:Y oucannotsetahigherresolutionthanthepresentoneonyourexternalmonitor.
Solution:
–Ensurethatthemonitorinformationiscorr ectbydoingthefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
2.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonit or(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
3.ClickAdvancedSettings.
4.ClicktheAdaptertab.
5.Ensurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapt erinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
6.ClickOK.
Iftheinformationisincorr ect,reinstallthedevicedriver.
–Checkthemonitortypeand,ifnecessary,updatethedriverbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonit or(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtoensurethatthemonitortypeis
