Operating Basics

Using optical disc drives

The text and illustrations in this section refer primarily to the optical disc drive. However, operation is the same for all other optical disc drives. The full-size drive provides high-performance execution of CD/DVD/HD DVD ROM-based programs. You can run either 12 cm (4.72") or 8 cm (3.15") CD/DVD/HD DVDs without an adaptor. An ATAPI interface controller is used for CD/DVD/HD DVD-ROM operation. When the computer is accessing a CD/DVD/HD DVD-

ROM, an indicator on the drive glows.

Use the TOSHIBA DVD Video Player application to view DVD-Video discs.(CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive model or DVD Super Multi drive model)
