Telephone operation
Share an outside call
You can call another system handset to join an outside call.
That call continues even if you hang up.
During a call, press INT. The other handset rings. The
outside call is put on hold.
If you have a two-handset system, your handset
screen shows CALLING OTHER HAN DSET. The
other handset rings and its screen shows OT HER
HANDSET IS CALLING.
If you have more than two handsets, your screen
shows
TRANSFER TO:.
Use the dialing keys to select
the other handset. Your screen then shows CALLING
HANDSET X. The other handset rin gs and its screen
shows HANDSET X IS CALLING .
To answer the call on the other handset, press , ,
INT, or any dialing keys (0-9, #, *). The outside call is still
on hold and both handsets now show INTE RCOM. You
can now have a private conversation between the system
handsets.
From this intercom call, you have the following options:
You can let the other handset join you on the outside call in a three -way
conversation. Press an d hold INT on your originating handset.
You can transfer the call. Press OFF/CLEAR, or place your ha ndset
back in the telepho ne base or charger. Your screen shows
CALL TRANSFERED. The other handset is au tomatically connected to
the outside c all.
You can alternate between the outside call (OUTSID E CALL appears
on the screen) and the interc om call (INTERCOM appears on the
screen). Press INT repeatedly o n your originating handset.
The other person can leave the intercom call by pres sing OFF/CLEAR,
or placing the other h andset back in the telephone base or charger. The
outside call c ontinues with the original system handset.

If you want to cancel an intercom ca ll and reconnect to
the outside call before the ot her handset answers, press
, or INT on your originating hand set.
If the other handset does not answe r the intercom
call within 100 seconds, is in t he directory or call log, or is out of r ange,
your originating handset scre en shows UNABLE TO CALL TRY AGAIN and
reconnects to the outsi de call automatically.
