Getting started
If the handset will not be used for a l ong time, disconnect and remove the
battery to prevent possible l eakage.

Battery installation and char ging
Install the battery as shown below. After inst alling the battery, you might
be able to make and receive short calls. For bes t performance, charge the
handset for at least 16 hours before use. When not in use, place the hand set
in the telephone base or charger. See page 37 for battery o perating times.

If the battery compartment c over is on the handset, press the indentation
and slide the cover to remove.
Plug the battery connector secur ely into the socket inside the handset
battery compartment, matc hing the color-coded label.
Place the battery with the label TH IS SIDE UP facing up and the wires
inside the battery compar tment.
Align the cover at against the battery co mpartment, then slide it towards
the center of the handset until it clicks into plac e.
Charge the handset by placing it in the telepho ne base or charger. The
CHARGE light is on when the handset ch arges.
