Answering system operation
New message indication
The message window on the telephone bas e ashes and shows on the
handset when there are new answering system messages.
If the new message alert tone is turned on, t he telephone base beeps every
10 seconds when there are unreviewed messages.
Message playback
If you have new messages, the telephone plays only the new mess ages
(oldest rst). If there are no new messages, the telephone plays back all
messages (oldest rst).
When playback begins, you hear the total number of mes sages followed by
the day and time of the message. After the last mes sage, the telephone
announces,

“End of messages.”

To play messages with the telephon e base:
Press /PLAY/STOP to listen to messages.
Options during playback:
Press VOL- or VOL+ to adjust the speaker volume.
Press /SKIP to skip to the next message.
Press /REPEAT to repeat the message currently playing. Press
/REPEAT twice to listen to the previous messag e.
Press X/DELETE to del ete the current message. The system advances
to the next message.
Press /PLAY/STOP to stop.
To play messages with a handset:
Press MENU/SELECT to show t he menu when the handset is not in use.
Press MENU/SELECT to s elect >ANS. SYSTEM.
Press MENU/SELECT to s elect >PLAY MSGS.
Options during playback:
Press VOL to adjust the speaker volume.
Press 6 to skip to the next message.
Press 4 to repeat the message currently playing. Press 4 t wice to listen
to the previous message.
Press 3 to delete the current message. The system advances to t he
next message.
Press 5 to stop.

When the answering system has les s than ve minutes of recording time
left, the remaining time is announc ed.
When F and number of messages are  ashing in the message window, the
memory is full. Delete some messages to m ake room for more.
You can only delete old messages, whic h are messages you have played.
