About cordless telephones
Privacy: The same features t hat make a cordless telepho ne convenient create some
limitations. Telephone ca lls are transmitted bet ween the telephone base an d the cordless
handset by radio waves, so ther e is a possibility that t he cordless telephone c onversations
could be intercepted by r adio receiving equipm ent within range of the cor dless handset. For this
reason, you should not thi nk of cordless telephon e conversations as being a s private as those
on corded telephone s.
Electrical power : The telephone base of thi s cordless telephone mu st be connected to a
working electric al outlet. The electri cal outlet should not be co ntrolled by a wall switch. Cal ls
cannot be made from the c ordless handset if the tel ephone base is unplugg ed or switched off,
or if the electrical p ower is interrupted.
Potential TV inte rference: Some cor dless telephones oper ate at frequencies that may cau se
interference to televi sions and VCRs. To minimize or prevent suc h interference, do not plac e
the telephone base of th e cordless telephone n ear or on top of a TV or VCR. If interfe rence is
experienced, moving t he cordless telephon e farther away from the TV or VCR of ten reduces or
eliminates the interfe rence.
Rechargeable b atteries: Exercis e care in handling batteri es in order not to create a shor t
circuit with condu cting material such as rin gs, bracelets, and keys. The ba ttery or conductor
may overheat and cause harm. O bserve proper polari ty between the batter y and the battery
charger.
Nickel-meta l hydride rechargeab le batteries: Disp ose of these batteries in a s afe manner.
Do not burn or puncture the b attery. Like other batterie s of this type, if burned or pu nctured,
they could release cau stic material which coul d cause injury.
The RBRC® seal
The RBRC® seal on the nic kel-metal hydride bat tery indicates that VTech Co mmunications, Inc. is
voluntarily partic ipating in an industry p rogram to collect and re cycle these batteries at t he end of
their useful lives, when t aken out of service with in the United States and Canad a.
The RBRC® program prov ides a convenient alternat ive to placing used nickel -metal hydride
batteries into the tras h or municipal waste, which m ay be illegal in your area.
VTech’s participation in RB RC® makes it easy for you to drop of f the spent battery at lo cal retailers
participating in th e RBRC® program or at author ized VTech product servi ce centers. Please call
