Troubleshooting
The messages on the answe ring system are very difcult to hear.
Press VOL on the telephone base or hand set to increase the speaker volume.on the telephone base or hand set to increase the speaker volume.
The answering system does not rec ord messages.
Make sure the answering system is on.
When the answering machine me mory is full, it does not record new me ssages until
some old messages are delete d.
The messages on the answe ring system are incomplete.
If a caller leaves a very long mess age, part of it might be lost when the answer ing
system disconnects the c all after four minutes.
If the memory on the answerin g system becomes full during a messag e, the
answering system stops record ing and disconnects the call.
If the caller’s voice is very sof t, the answering system might stop rec ording and
disconnect the call.
The answering system does not res pond to remote commands.
Make sure your remote code is corre ct (page 11).
Make sure you are calling from a touch -tone telephone. When dialing a numb er,
there should be tones. If there ar e clicks, then it is not a touch-tone tel ephone and
cannot activate the answering syste m.
The answering system might not detec t the remote access code when your
announcement is playing. Wait unt il the announcement is over before enterin g
the code.
There might be interferenc e on the telephone line you are using. Press t he dial pad
keys rmly when dialing.
Common cures for electr onic equipment.
If the telephone is not respon ding normally, put the cordless hands et in the
telephone base. If it does not res pond, try the following (in the ord er listed):
Disconnect the power to the te lephone base.
Disconnect the batter y on the cordless handset.
Wait a few minutes before connectin g power to the telephone base.
Re-install the batter y and place the cordless hands et in the telephone base
or charger.
Wait for the cordless handset to sy nchronize with the telephone base. Al low up to
one minute for this to take place.
