Important safety instruc tions
When using your telephon e equipment, basic safet y precautions should a lways be followed to
reduce the risk of re, el ectric shock and injur y, including the followin g:
Read and understand al l instructions.
Follow all warnings and in structions marked on th e product.
Unplug this product f rom the wall outlet before cl eaning. Do not use liquid or ae rosol cleaners.
Use a damp cloth for clean ing.
Do not use this product n ear water.
Do not place this produ ct on an unstable table, sh elf, stand or other unstabl e surfaces.
Slots and openings in th e back or bottom of the telep hone base and handset are pr ovided for
ventilation. To protect them fro m overheating, these openi ngs must not be blocked by pla cing
the product on a soft su rface such as a bed, sofa or r ug. This product shoul d never be placed
near or over a radiator or heat regi ster. This product should not b e placed in any area where
proper ventilation is not p rovided.
This product should b e operated only from the t ype of power source indic ated on the marking
label. If you are not sure of the t ype of power supply in your hom e, consult your dealer or loc al
power company.
Do not allow anything to re st on the power cord. Do not inst all this product where t he cord may
be walked on.
Never push objects of any ki nd into this product thro ugh the slots in the teleph one base or
handset because they may t ouch dangerous voltag e points or create a short cir cuit. Never spill
liquid of any kind on the pro duct.
To reduce the risk of electri c shock, do not disasse mble this product, but t ake it to an
authorized servic e facility. Opening or remov ing parts of the telephon e base or handset other
than specied acce ss doors may expose you to dang erous voltages or other ri sks. Incorrect
reassembling can cau se electric shock wh en the product is subseq uently used.
Do not overload wall outlet s and extension cords.
Unplug this product f rom the wall outlet and refer se rvicing to an authorize d service facility
under the following co nditions:
When the power supply cor d or plug is damaged or frayed.
If liquid has been spill ed onto the product.
If the product has been ex posed to rain or water.
If the product does not o perate normally by followi ng the operating instru ctions. Adjust
only those controls t hat are covered by the operatio n instructions. Impro per adjustment of
other controls may resul t in damage and often requir es extensive work by an author ized
technician to restore t he product to normal oper ation.
If the product has been d ropped and the telepho ne base and/or handset has be en
damaged.
If the product exhibit s a distinct change in per formance.
Avoid using a telephone (other t han cordless) during an ele ctrical storm. There i s a remote risk
of electric shock fr om lightning.
Do not use the telephone to r eport a gas leak in the vic inity of the leak.
Only put the handset of your t elephone next to your ear whe n it is in normal talk mode.
The power adapters are inten ded to be correctly orie nted in a vertical or oor m ount position.
The prongs are not desig ned to hold the plug in place if i t is plugged into a ceiling o r an under-
the-table/cabin et outlet.
