Chapter 32 Access Control

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

LABELDESCRIPTION

Administrator

This is the default administrator account with the “admin” user name. You cannot change the default administrator user name. Only the administrator has read/write access.

Old Password

Type the existing system password (1234 is the default password

 

when shipped).

 

 

New Password

Enter your new system password.

 

 

Retype to

Retype your new system password for confirmation

Edit Logins

 

You may configure passwords for up to four users. These users have read-only access. You can give users higher privileges via the CLI. For more information on assigning privileges see the CLI Reference Guide.

User Name

Set a user name (up to 32 ASCII characters long).

 

 

Password

Enter your new system password.

 

 

Retype to

Retype your new system password for confirmation

confirm

 

 

 

Apply

Click Apply to save your changes to the Switch’s run-time memory.

 

The Switch loses these changes if it is turned off or loses power, so

 

use the Save link on the top navigation panel to save your changes

 

to the non-volatile memory when you are done configuring.

 

 

Cancel

Click Cancel to begin configuring this screen afresh.
