Speakerphone

Note: If you are using an 8405B or an 8405D voice terminal, you cannot use this feature. If you are using an 8405B Plus or an 8405D Plus, you have either the Speaker (listen-only) feature or the Speakerphone (listen and talk) feature. If you are uncertain whether your voice terminal is set for the Speaker feature or the Speakerphone feature, check with your system manager.

Use the following procedures if your voice terminal is set for the Speakerphone (speak and listen) feature.

If the Reset Spkr label appears under the Speaker button on your 8405B Plus or 8405D Plus voice terminal, you can use the Reset Speakerphone feature. For directions on using this feature, see “Reset Speakerphone” in this section.

To place/answer a call without lifting the handset, or to use speakerphone with any feature

1Press Speaker

Red light next to Speaker goes on steadily

2Place or answer the call, or access the selected feature

3Adjust speakerphone volume if necessary

To raise the volume, press the right half of the

to lower the volume, press the left half of the Volume control button labeled Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background

If you have a display, it shows

SPEAKER L>>>>> H

(There are eight possible volume settings. On the display, one arrow is the lowest setting, and eight arrows is the highest setting.)

Note: The Volume control does not affect an external speakerphone attached to your voice terminal.
