2.Perform such activities in the off peak hours, such as early morning or late evenings. If the Base Unit is placed in standby mode, wait 90 seconds after the power has been restored to perform the cellular radio test.

The system uses cellular radio to send a signal. The signal should be tested regularly. The CELL light on the keypad will indicate the presence of a signal. If the CELL LED is flashing, it indicates that the cellular radio signal is weak.

To verify, follow these steps:

1.When the cellular radio screen is displayed, select TEST.

2.The system will display a message when it is testing the cellular radio.

If system cannot finish the test, press cancel and restart test.

3.Once the test is complete, the screen will display a message to verify if the test passed or failed. If the test passes, select BACK to choose another test. If the test fails, see Troubleshooting Guide for more detailed information.

PHONE LINE

CAUTION: When testing the system be prepared to:

1.Remain on the line and briefly explain to the dispatcher the reason for the call if con- tacted by the monitoring service.

2.Perform such activities in the off peak hours, such as early morning or late evenings. NOTE: The connection to the telephone line should be tested regularly. The phone line pro- vides back-up communication in the event that the cellular signal can not complete a call.

1.When the phone line screen is displayed, select TEST.

2.The system will display a message when it is testing the phone line.

3.Once the test is complete, the screen will display a message to verify if the test passed or failed. If the test passes, select BACK to choose another test. If the test fails, see the Troubleshooting Guide for more detailed information.

CONSOLE DEVICES

Devices on the Base Unit should be tested regularly.

1.When the Console Devices screen is displayed, select TEST.

2.Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the menu until the console device to be tested is reached. The console devices include: strobe, siren, motion detector, vibration.

Strobe:

A.When the strobe screen is displayed, select TEST.

B.While the strobe is testing, a message will be displayed indicating that the strobe will be flashing. If the strobe is not flashing, see the Troubleshooting Guide for more detailed information.

C.Once the function is verified, end the test by selecting BACK.

D.Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the menu until the next console device to be tested is reached.

Siren:

CAUTION: LOUD NOISE. Running this test will cause a loud noise that may startle any persons near the Base Unit.
