3.3.Audible Alarm

Different controller environmental and operational parameters (such as temperature, etc.) have been assigned a range of values between which they can fluctuate. If either the upper or lower thresholds are exceeded, an audible alarm will automatically be triggered. The alarm will also be triggered when an active component of the subsystem fails. If the subsystem manager is onsite and is alerted by the alarm, the manager needs to read the error message on the LCD screen or on the PC terminal to determine what has triggered the alarm and then take appropriate actions to rectify the problem.

WARNING!

Whenever an alarm is triggered, you must determine the cause of the problem. If the audible alarm is ignored or not taken seriously and the problem is not rectified, permanent damage to the system can result.

3.3.1Default Threshold Values

Table 3-9shows the default threshold values for the subsystem. If these values are surpassed, the alarm will sound. The enclosure sensor default is set at a higher value than the suggested ambient temperature threshold; however, it is crucial you maintain an ambient temperature below 40ºC (and below 35ºC if BBUs are applied) at your installation site.
