ISDN links will not be possible. In the U.S.A., an additional customer identification number, known as a Service Provider Identification Number (SPID) may be required.

1Enter CO IS PA to display the ISDN Parameters screen.

2Toggle the Network Type field, using the Spacebar, to the correct ISDN network type as given by the service provider.

3Press [Ctrl]+[E] to submit the new setting and then enter SAVE

Configure the ISDN Numbers Table

It is good practise to set up the ISDN numbers table to associate the remote unit name with an ISDN number.

1Enter CO IS NU to display the ISDN Numbers screen.

2Enter ADD to add a new entry to the numbers table.

3Type the name of the remote unit in the Name field and the ISDN number for that unit in the ISDN Number 1 field.

Do not alter the IP Address, IP Mask or IPX Network fields. Unit names are case-sensitive and must be entered correctly.

4Press [Ctrl]+[E] to submit the new setting and then enter SAVE

Configuring a Remote Unit for Bridging and IPX

If the remote site unit is being configured for the first time, or if it is an entirely new installation, then reset the unit to the factory default settings.

Follow the sequence of steps for resetting the unit as described in “Manual Configuration of a Central Site Unit for Bridging and IPX” on page 4-3.

Configuring a Unit Using the “Quick Configuration” Utility

If the central site unit has been configured, the Quick Configuration utility can be used to at the remote site to configure the remote site unit.
