Manage location access

If your tablet has multipl e users, each has sep arate Location ac-
cess settings. Some set tings differ fo r Android 4.1.2 and earlie r.
You can let your tablet access G PS, Wi-Fi networ ks, and mobile
networks to estimate your lo cation. Apps that h ave your permis-
sion can use this informati on to deliver locatio n-based serv ices,
such as the ability to chec k in, view commute t rafc, or nd ne ar-
by restaurants.

For your tablet

To control what location infor mation your tablet can use , go to
Settings > Personal > Location access.
When the Access to my locatio n switch at the top of the sc reen is
On, you can select eithe r or both of these che ckboxes:
• GPS satellites. Just like a GPS device in your car, lets you r tab-
let calculate your locati on based on satell ite signals.
• Wi-Fi & mobile network location. Lets your tablet use Google’s
