About tablet sharing
If you share your tablet with f amily or frien ds, they can se t up sep-
arate user spaces for th emselves. You rst add a new user to th e
tablet. Then hand it over to t hat person to set up the ne w space,
just as you did when you turne d on the tablet for th e rst time.
After completing the se tup process, a n ew user can work wi th the
tablet in most of the usual ways:
Set up their own Google acc ounts and oth er types of ac counts.
Customize the lock scree n, Home screens , and other sett ings.
Add, update, and delete a pps.
The user experience fo r the tablet ’s owner and the add itional user
is nearly the same. However, on ly the tablet’s owne r can remove
any user’s space comple tely or uninstall a ny user’s apps.
Any other user can accep t updated app permission s on any
other user’s behalf.
As with any computer, you shou ld share this tablet onl y with
people you trust.
The way settings work whe n a tablet has multip le users varies:
Some settings, like thos e under Setting s > Device > Sound, af -
fect only the individual user’s space.
Some settings, like Set tings > More > Airplane mo de, can be
changed by any user and aff ect all users, in cluding the own er.
Some settings, like Set tings > More > VPN, are vi sible only to
the owner and affect all us ers.
