Back. Opens the previous scre en you were work ing in, even if i t
was in a different app. Onc e you back up to the Home sc reen,
you can’t go back any fur ther in your histor y.
Home. Opens Home. If you’re on a lef t or right Home screen ,
this button opens the cen tral Home screen .
Recent apps. Opens a list of thumbnail ima ges of apps you’ve
worked with recently. To open an ap p, touch and double -tap.
To remove a thumbnail from the lis t, use two ngers to sw ipe
it left or right.
After a short time witho ut getting use d, these butto ns may shrink
to dots or fade away, depending o n the current ap p. To bring them
back, double-ta p in their approxim ate location.
You can use easy gestures to activa te the Navigation b uttons and
access your noticatio ns. Swipe with a si ngle motion:
Up then right: Open continuous reading menu
Up then left: Home button
Down then right: Open glob al context menu
Down then left: Back butto n
Right then down: Open noti cations
Left then up: Recent apps b utton
Just above the Navigation bu ttons in portrait mode, o r on the
right side of the screen in landscap e mod e, you ’ll  nd th e Fa -
vorites tray. The apps you keep in t he tray are available on ev ery
Home screen.
The Apps icon in the cente r is permanent. Fi nd it and double- tap
to reveal all your apps and widg ets.
Your Home screen can hold app a nd widget icon s, plus folders.
To open an app, folder, or widget , nd its icon and do uble-tap.
