Password tips: For best security, specify a p assword that is
• A least 8 characters long .
• Contains a mixture of num bers, letter s, and special sy mbols.
• Doesn’t contain any rec ognizable words o r phrases.
Settings
To change when your tablet goe s to sleep, go to Set-
tings > Device > Display > Sleep .
To see your passwords when you inp ut them, go to
Settings > Personal > Sec urity > Make passwords
visible.
Encrypt your data You can encrypt all your dat a: Google Accounts , app data, music
and other media, downlo aded information, an d so on. If you do,
you must enter a numeric PIN o r password each time you turn
on your tablet. Note that this i s the same PIN or password that
you use to unlock your tablet w ithout encr yption, and c an’t be set
independently.
WARNING: Encry ption is irreversible. Th e only way to re-
vert is to perform a facto ry data reset , which erases a ll your
data.
If your tablet has multiple u sers, only the owner c an see the en-
cryption settings .
Encryption provide s additional protectio n in case your tablet is
stolen, and may be require d or recommended in s ome organiza-
