If the app is harmful, Goog le may warn you not to install it , or it
may block the installatio n completely.
IMPORTANT: When you verify apps, Google r eceives log in -
formation, URLs relate d to the app, and ge neral inform ation
about the device, such a s the Device ID, ver sion of the oper -
ating system, IP address , and one or more coo kies.
Control app verication
Tablets running Android 4. 2 and later that have Google Play i n-
stalled have the o ption of using Google as an app verier. App
verication is tur ned on by de fault, but n o data is sen t to Google
unless you agree to allow this w hen asked in the dialog th at ap-
pears prior to installin g the rst app from a n unknown sourc e.
To control app verication, go to Settings > Secu rity > Verify ap ps.
If you attempt to install an app t hat may be unsafe, you may s ee
one of the following dialog s:
Installing this app may harm y our tablet. The app may be
harmful to your tablet and p ersonal inform ation.
Installation has been blocked. The app is harmful and can’t
be installed.
