1. Turn on Wi-Fi , if it’s not alread y on.
2. I n the Wi-Fi set tings screen, to uch Menu > Advanced.
These are the settings you c an adjust:
• Network notication. By defaul t, when Wi-Fi is on, you re-
ceive n otications i n the Status b ar when your t ablet de-
tects an open Wi-Fi net work. Uncheck this o ption to turn off
notications.
• Keep Wi-Fi during sleep. To conserve mobile data usage, your
tablet stays connected to W i-Fi when t he screen goe s to sleep.
Touch this option to change this d efault behavior: either to
stay connected to Wi-F i only when the tablet i s connected to
a charger (when batter y life isn’t a problem), or n ever to stay
connected to Wi-Fi du ring sleep.
• Avoid poor connections: Check to automatically avoid u s-
ing networks with a low- quality or intermittent Internet
connection.
• Wi-Fi optimization: Check to minimize battery usage when Wi-
Fi is on.
This screen also display s the following info rmation:
• MAC address. The Media Access Control ( MAC) address of
your tablet when conne cted to a Wi-Fi net work.
• IP address. The Internet Protocol (IP) ad dress assigned to t he
tablet by the Wi-Fi net work you are connecte d to (unless you
used the IP settings to assig n it a static IP addres s).
To turn Wi-Fi on or off, go to Settings > Wirel ess
& networks > Wi-Fi.
To manage data usage and mobile h otspots, go to
Settings > Wireless & net works > Data usage.
