• Double-tap. Tap quickly twic e on a webpage, map, or other
screen to zoom. For exampl e, double-tap a p icture in Chrome
to zoom in, and double- tap again to zoom out .
• Pinch. In some apps (such as Map s, Chrome, and G allery), you
can zoom in and out by plac ing two ngers o n the s creen at
once and pinching them to gether (to zoom out) or spre ading
them apart (to zoom in).
• Rotate the screen. The ori entation of most screens rotate s
with your device as you turn it . To lock or unlock the scre en’s
vertical orientati on, swipe down from the top right of any
screen and touch the Rotati on icon in Quick S ettings

umes, and more, go to Settings > Devic e >
Sound.
To change your tablet’s brig htness, font size, and
more, go to Settings > Device > Display.
Type text by speaking
You can speak to enter text in most p laces that you can e nter text
with the onscreen keyboa rd.
1. Touch a tex t eld, or a locat ion in tex t you’ve alr eady entere d
in a text eld.
2. Touc h the Microphone key on the onsc reen keyboard.
3. W hen you see the microphon e image, speak what you want
to type.
Say “comma,” “period ,” “question mark,” “excl amation mark,” or
“exclamation point” to enter punctuation.
When you pause, what you spo ke is transcribed by the spe ech-
recognition ser vice and entere d in the te xt eld, unde rlined.
