9character position. You must press the [*] key to move to the next character position.

18.4Scroll Lists

Alphabetic characters are valid entries for many prompts. Scroll lists allow you to enter alphabetic and other special characters without entering numeric codes for these non-numeric characters.

When you press the [A] key to move to Modify Mode from View Mode, the system erases the current value of the prompt from the display, adds MOD to the right of the group and prompt numbers in the top line of the display, and displays the first character of the scroll list in the leftmost character position of the bottom line of the display.

Scroll lists display allowable alphabetic characters (A to Z) first, then the allowable numeric characters (0 to 9), then the special characters (! # ‘ , - / : < >), and finally the “space” character.

The [C] key moves forward through the scroll list. The [B] key moves backward through the scroll list.

18.5Yes and No Entries

In View Mode the system spells out YES or NO for Yes/No prompts. When you enter Modify Mode the system always displays N for no. Pressing either the [B] key or [C] key toggles Y for yes into the display.
