1.Input 1 – Balanced mono, XLR input socket The DB1 balance mono input is intended for use with preamplifiers or audio-visual processors that provide a balanced mono audio output.

Note: Balanced connection, where negative, positive and ground signals are carried on separate wires, is common in professional and some high-end domestic audio equipment. Balanced connection is inherently more resistant to interference and noise than unbalanced connection.

2.Input 2 – Unbalanced mono, RCA Phono input socket

The DB1 unbalanced mono input is intended for use with preamplifiers or audio-visual processors that provide an unbalanced mono audio output.

3.Input 3 – Unbalanced stereo, RCA Phono input sockets

The DB1 unbalanced stereo input is intended for use with preamplifiers or audio-visual processors that provide a stereo unbalanced audio output.

Use an appropriate high quality interconnect cable to connect to the required input or inputs.

In addition to the mains and signal input sockets the DB1 connection panel carries the following further sockets.

4. Trigger 1 – 3.5mm jack input socket

The Trigger 1 socket enables wired remote control of the DB1 switch on and standby function.

5. Trigger 2 – 3.5mm jack input socket

The Trigger 2 socket enables wired remote control of DB1 preset selection.

6. Remote IR - 3.5mm jack input socket

The Remote IR (infra-red) socket enables fully wired remote control of the DB1 via an outboard IR sensor and repeater.

7. RS-2329-pin D connector

The RS-232 interface connector enables the connection of a PC running the Bowers & Wilkins SubApp™ software application. The RS232 interface also enables the DB1 to be incorporated in remote control home automation systems. Your Bowers & Wilkins retailer will be able to provide more information RS232 based home automation systems.

8. USB 2.0 – USB slave socket

The USB socket enables DB1 internal software to be updated.

Note: DB1 software may be updated from time to time. You can check whether your DB1 software is up to date by selecting “About” from the setup home menu, noting the installed version and checking if there is a later version available on the DB1 support page at www.bowers-wilkins.com.
