Computer Requirements

The following are the minimum computer requirements you need to set up and operate the MFC as a printer.

CPU

80486/66MHz or higher (Windows® 3.1x or 95)

 

Pentium 75 or Higher (Windows® 98 or

 

Windows NT® Workstation Version 4.0)

RAM

8MB or greater for Windows® 3.1x

 

8MB or greater for Windows® 95

 

(16MB recommended)

Use only a shield interface cable that is IEEE-1284 compliant, and that is less than 6 feet long (1.8 meters), or a USB cable.

Please find your Windows® 98 CD-ROM before you begin.

A USB cable is not included with your copier/printer. Before you can set up the USB interface, you must purchase a standard USB cable. Or, if you prefer to set up the bundled parallel cable, please see “Connecting the Bundled Parallel Cable”.

1After you have set up the copier/printer and checked that it is working properly, make sure it is turned on and your PC is turned off.
