Setting the TEL LINE TYPE*

Yourfax is factory set to work with rotary pulse telephone lines**. If you have a tone line, you will

needto change the telephone line setting as follows.

* TELLINE TYPE cannot be set in Hong Kong, Norway and Denmark.

** The factory default setting for the UK and Singapore is touch tone.

2Use[ ]or[ ]toselect USER SETTINGS.

Press[START/COPY].

3Use[ ]or[ ]toselect TEL LINE TYPE.

Press[START/COPY].

4Use[ ]or[ ]toselect TOUCH TONE.

5Press[START/COPY].

6Press[STOP] to ﬁnish.

Usersin the UK only:

Althoughthis equipment can use either rotary pulse or touch tone, only the performance of the

touchtone is subject to regulatory requirements for correct operation. It is therefore strongly

recommendedthat the equipment is set to use touch tone for access to public or private emergency

services.Touch tone also provides faster call set up.
