Fractional Widths

This feature provides for better compatibility with older applications by helping your Macintosh® determine the proper spacing between words. When Fractional Widths is checked, it forces the use of fractional character widths, even if your application does not support this feature. If your application already uses fractional widths, it overrides the driver setting. It’s a good idea to leave Fractional Widths on at all times.
