Configuring Signaling on the Routers

Configure PVCs for QSAAL and ILMI signaling on the main ATM interfaces of both the source and destination routers that terminate the SVC.

Note On the ATM switch router, the signaling and ILMI channels are set up by default and do not require manual configuration.

Take these steps:

2Router# configure terminal Router(config)#

3Router(config)# interface atm port[/slot ]

Router(config-if)#

4Router(config-if)# atm pvc number 0 5 qsaal

5Router(config-if)# atm pvc number 0 16 ilmi

6Router(config-if)# end Router#

7(No command.)

Purpose

Enter privileged EXEC mode.

Enter global configuration mode.

Enter interface configuration mode on the ATM interface.

Configure a PVC for QSAAL1 signaling.

Configure a PVC for ILMI signaling.

Return to privileged EXEC mode.

Repeat this procedure on the other router.
