Configuring PVCs

Table3-2 describes the in and out interfaces and associated VPIs/VCIs for the PVC shown in Figure 3-2.

Configuring the ATM Switch Router

Take these steps:

3Switch(config)# interface atm card/subcard/port[.subinterface ]

Switch(config-if)#

4Switch(config-if)# atm pvc vpi

vci interface atm card/subcard/port[.vpt#] vpi vci

5Switch(config-if)# end Switch#

Purpose

Enter privileged EXEC mode.

Enter global configuration mode.

Select the interface to configure.

Configure the PVC. When configuring PVCs, configure the lowest available VPI and VCI numbers first.

Note VCIs 0 to 31 on all VPIs are reserved.

Return to privileged EXEC mode.
