Chapter 3 Using Video

Before You Use Video

You can view video images in conversations with any of the following users:

People who use Cisco Unified Personal Communicator and are set up to use video

People who use Cisco Unified Video Advantage 2.0

People who use Cisco Unified IP Phone model 7985

Before You Use Video

In order to transmit your video image:

You must be set up to use video. See the “Setting Up Your Camera” section on page 1-4.

Your camera must be plugged in.

Your active phone must be your soft phone.

If you are adding video to a call, the active call must not be a conference call.

You should verify that your video camera is operating correctly. See the “Previewing Your Video Image” section on page 3-2.

Previewing Your Video Image

To see your video image:

Choose Window > Show Camera Preview.

If you do not see your image, see the “Problems with Video” section on page 10-6.
