The first three lines tell the system if the speakers used are capable of extended low-frequency reproduction. When making a setting, use the following as a guideline:

SMALL: Select this setting if the speakers are satellite-type speakers that are not capable of reproducing low-frequency information below 100Hz.

LARGE: Select this setting if the speakers are traditional, full-range loudspeakers.

Note: The words LARGE and SMALL do not refer to the actual size of the speakers, but their ability to handle low-frequency information. However, full-range speakers are typically larger in size than frequency-limited satellite speakers since they usually include large woofers.

Note: If you wish to retain the factory preset that appears on any menu line, simply press the

ÛMenu Control button to skip that item and move to the next setting.

When the Frnt L/R Spkrs line is highlighted, use the Ü or Ý Menu Control buttons to select LARGE or SMALL in accordance with the definition above. When SMALL is selected, all signals assigned to the front left/right speakers that are below 100Hz will be sent to the subwoofer output. When LARGE is selected, the front left/right speakers will receive a full-range signal. For installations where you have both small satellite and an additional set of full-range speakers, or dedicated front channel subwoofers connected to the front channel outputs, an additional option SM+LG is available. In this mode, subwoofers and their crossover networks are deactivated when in the STEREO mode.

When the desired setting for the front L/R speakers has been set, press the Û Menu Control button once, so that CENTER is highlighted. Here, make the same choice as to a LARGE or SMALL

setting, depending on the type of speakers installed. Use the Ü or Ý Menu Control buttons to make your selection. When SMALL is selected, all sounds below 100Hz assigned to the center channel will be sent to the subwoofer output. When LARGE is selected, the center speakers will receive a full-range signal. An additional option here is NONE, which should be selected if no center channel speaker

is installed.

Once the center channel setting has been made, press the Û Menu Control button so that Surrnd Spkrs is highlighted. Again, make a choice as to LARGE or SMALL, using the Ü or Ý Menu Control buttons to make your selection. When SMALL is selected, all sounds below 100Hz assigned to the left and right surround channels will be sent to the subwoofer output. When LARGE is selected, the surround speakers will receive a full-range signal.

After selecting the surround speaker type, press the Û Menu Control button so that Surrnd Config is highlighted. Use the Ü or Ý Menu Control buttons to select the specific type of surround sound speakers installed and how they are connected from the following choices:

Select DUAL DRV when Citation, Fosgate•Audionics or other approved Dual Drive speakers are connected to the 5.0. Make certain that the switch on the rear of the speaker is set to the Dual Drive position.

Select MAIN+AUX when separate, point-source speakers are installed on both the side and rear walls of the listening room.
