Troubleshooting the Power Supply

Problem

•The power LED on the front of the system is not lit.

Action

1Check the connection of the power cable to the power supply and the outlet.

2Remove the bezel. See "Removing and Replacing the Bezel."

3Turn on the system.

If the problem is not resolved, continue to the next step.

4Open the system. See "Opening the System."

5Ensure that the power supply cable is properly connected to the backplane board.

6Close the system. See "Closing the System."

If the problem is still not resolved, replace the power supply. See "Power Supply" in "Installing System Components."

Troubleshooting System Cooling Problems

Problem

•Systems management software issues a fan-related error message.

Action

Ensure that none of the following conditions exist:

•Ambient temperature is too high.

•External airflow is obstructed.

•Cables inside the system obstruct airflow.

•An individual cooling fan has failed. See "Troubleshooting a Fan."

•System-status indicator is amber.

•Systems management software issues a fan-related error message.
